Charlie was born on June 23, 1933 in Fargo. He was the only son of Forest and Alice Nolan Clay. He was drafted by the U.S Army following graduation from Yale High School in 1952. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local #324 for33 years retiring in 1992. He loved riding his Harley and was awarded honorary membership in Port Huron H.O.G #2335 in June 2001. Charlie was a past concilman and Mayor of Yale,he owned Yale Taven for three years until it was destroyed by fire in 1987, He was a member of Moose Lodge #158 of Port huron and Past Master of Brockway Masonic Lodge #316 F.& A.M. He loved gardening, woodworking,his family,he loved children in fact he played Santa at Birchwood Mall for 6 years. He had two sisters Nancy Long and Shirley Blumenauer who is with him in Heaven.He was a Loving father to 3 sons Randy, Rick, and Bill. 3 Step sons Scott, Joe, and Mark Daniels.A daughter Janet who is also with him in Heaven,and 6 step daughters Lori, Lynn, Julie, Diane, Vicki and Traci. He also had a horde of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. When he left us he left a void in many hearts that can never be replaced. His memory will live on forever through the lives of the people he touched.Whether you remember him as a Loving Husband, Dad, Papa , Friend or Santa he was all these things and everyone of them made him happy.He was a great man, one who will never be forgetton! I love you Papa Charlie now and forever.
